__ While hunting around Dry Creek, near Starkey, Or., in 1979, they found a ravine that had something strange. There were 15-20 sheep hanging, laid over the branches of trees, and they were 3- 4.5 metres up. Three were on the ground, and all smelled rotten, but had not been eaten on. They reported it, and the ranger said it was the strangest thing he had ever seen. Jim Hewkin said he reported a similar incident where a dead cow was found in the crotch of an alder tree.
__ reports the finding of "piles of rocks." The scattered piles could be as few as 3- 4 little rocks stacked to 1 foot high, up to 6-8 big rocks. There usually wasn't a source apparent for the rocks; there were no pits; they didn't look freshly stacked, and may be as much as a mile apart.

Examining the caracas he thought to himself, "I've shot a wild man! A big hairy wild man. " Afraid of trouble over the incident, and without telling his partner, he dug a trench on the hill slope, and rolled the hairy wild man in, and covered it with dirt and part of the rotten log the BF had been eating grubs from.
__ He found two "beds" in the brush, one about 3-metre X 1.2 meter, the other smaller, oriented at an angle away from the other, was maybe 2.5-metre X 1.2-metre, the size of a sheet of plywood. Both were lined with cedar boughs, the nearby cedars having branches broken off "way up," Stan says.. Datus listening in thinks maybe Stan woke ‘em up, and that they were probably nearby watching Stan from behind a tree. There was a big egg-shaped circle, with an opening towards the timber. The dirt at the north side had been excavated somewhat, the dirt piled at one end of the 3-metre long bed serving as a pillow. There was no odor, but he mentioned a 'dropping' at one side of the oval on the ground. There was also a "lounging area.' Most astounding, there was a deer hide, fresh meat and lots of fat on the bottom, the fur side up... for the bed. The four hooves were still attached, and there was no grass padding under the hide.
__ West of Knappa Canyon Dam down in Klamath County in August of 1979. While chasing a deer he had shot, it bounded into a very dense thicket of trees about 150 yards off the road. He couldn’t find the deer, but he did find a strange clearing...there was no grass or trees in the well "stomped" area of about 30-40 feet in a rough oval. At the north end of the oval there were piles of poop, some 2-3 feet high, and at the other end of the clearing was a pile of bones...some bleached, some with meat still on them.

Strange finger marks on rotten log, feces containing undigested earthworms, termites, some kind of meat, leaves, wild peppermint, twigs & brush. __ He had sat motionless on a stump for over an hour and watched a doe and her fawn browse. The fawn drifted over to within 6-8 feet of the timber .."all of a sudden there was a blur of action. After the rifle went off, the thing let out a scream.

The hairy woman was sitting on the ground feeding a small one berries hand to mouth; the little one was sitting inside the circle of her huge legs. "…the bulk of my being was in great astonishment and fright for my safety in the presence of the giantess." Later he exclaimed, "…now in control of my faculties, I take leave of my civil upbringing to declare she is the ugliest woman ever a lonely man set eyes upon. " His journal indicated the bushwoman talk to the smaller one in words sounding of the same kind to the Tongass Tlingit Indian, which he knew as Native.
I have read where some Native American people say that when the first white men came to North America and brought the diseases that killed off so many Native people, it also killed off most of the Sasquatch population as well. They say Sasquatch was susceptible to these diseases and was almost wiped out. For many decades Sasquatch presence was almost unheard of, yet before the white man came the Native people lived with Sasquatch almost as a neighbor. This sudden depreciation in populations numbers could be a contributing factor in Sasquatch kidnapping women and girls to use as his mates if no females of his own species could be found

He then explained that he'd shot the elk at a distance of 65 or 70 meter, but that before he could reach the spot where it had fallen, a large, hairy, ape-like animal, like a gorilla, but bigger, with very long arms, had stepped out of the brush nearby and, walking erect, grabbed the elk by one haunch and simply drug it away

Seeing something big move only 100 feet away, and finally stand up from a squatting position, they debated and rejected shooting the creature, shooting on the road to scare it away. "It was eating skunk cabbage leaves and roots. It was very wary of us and kept rocking back and forth nervously".
