The
Giants Part 2
The Source of
Demons
1 Samuel
17:4 And there
went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of
Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. 5 And he had
an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail;
and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass.
6 And he had
greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his
shoulders. 7 And the staff of his spear was like a
weaver's beam; and his spear's head weighed six hundred shekels of iron:
and one bearing a shield went before him. (Depending on whether the ordinary cubit, or the sacred one
is used Goliath stood between 11 and 12 feet tall.)
2 Samuel 5:18 The
Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
(Nephilim not Rephaim)
5:22 And
the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of
Rephaim.
21:16 And Ishbibenob, which
was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three
hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword,
thought to have slain David. 17 But Abishai the son of
Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the
men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to
battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel. 18 And it came to pass
after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob:
then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the
giant. 19 And there was again a
battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim,
a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of
whose spear was like a weaver's beam. 20 And there was yet a
battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand
six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he
also was born to the giant. 21 And when he defied
Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimeah the brother of David slew him.
22 These four were born
to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of
his servants.
23:13 And three of the thirty chief went down,
and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the
troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim. (Nephilim not
Rephaim)
1 Chronicles
8:1 Now Benjamin begat Bela his firstborn,
Ashbel the second, and Aharah the third, 2 Nohah the fourth, and Rapha the
fifth.
8:37 And Moza begat Binea: Rapha was his son,
Eleasah his son, Azel his son:
11:15
Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the
cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of
Rephaim. (Nephilim not Rephaim)
11:22
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had
done many acts; he slew two lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and
slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day. 23
And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great
stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a
weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear
out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own
spear.
14:9 And the Philistines came and spread
themselves in the valley of Rephaim. (Nephilim
not Rephaim)
20:4
And it came to pass after this, that there
arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the
Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they
were subdued. 5 And there was war
again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the
brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver's
beam. 6 And yet again there
was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes
were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot and he also
was the son of the giant. 7 But when he defied
Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him. 8 These were born unto
the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of
his servants.

breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant.

Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants
thereof.
Psalms
88:10 Wilt
thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee?
Selah.

2:18 For her
house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the
dead.
9:18 But he knoweth not that the dead are
there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
21:16 The man that wandereth out of the way of
understanding shall remain in the congregation of the
dead.
Isaiah
14:9 Hell from
beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the
dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up
from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
17:5 And it
shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears
with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of
Rephaim.
26:14 They are dead, they shall not live; they
are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and
destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my
dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy
dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the
dead.

Wisdom of Solomon 14:6
For in the old time also, when the proud giants perished, the
hope of the world governed by thy hand escaped in a weak vessel, and left
to all ages a seed of generation.
Baruch 3:24 O Israel, how great is the house
of God! and how large is the place of his possession! 25 Great, and hath none end; high, and
unmeasurable. 26 There were the giants
famous from the beginning, that were of so great stature, and so expert in
war. 27 Those did not the Lord choose,
neither gave he the way of knowledge unto them: 28 But they were destroyed, because they had
no wisdom, and perished through their own foolishness.
Judith 16:7
For the mighty one did
not fall by the young men, neither did the sons of the Titans smite him,
nor high giants set upon him: but Judith the daughter of Merari weakened
him with the beauty of her countenance.
Sirach 16:7 He was not pacified toward the old giants,
who fell away in the strength of their foolishness.
47:4
Slew he not a giant, when he was yet but young? and did he not take away
reproach from the people, when he lifted up his hand with the stone in the
sling, and beat down the boasting of Goliath?
1 Maccabees 3:3 So he gat his people great honour, and put
on a breastplate as a giant, and girt his warlike harness about him, and
he made battles, protecting the host with his sword.
