REPORTS  TO this Office ; PRINCE GEORGE ; BC Canada

I have had numerous experiences, which are posted on my experiences page. These stretch from 1958 to lately.

Story Received Feb.20, 2006 .. Thank you to the Arnette family for their contribution to this Dada Base.

Anna Arnette, who told me of the experiences that she and her family endured not only seemed very genuine but I could hear other family members in the background reminding her not to forget this or that.

Time;- Took place in Aug or Sept 2002

Place;- Batinuni Lake Campsite.

Experience;-

The Arnette family of Quesnel BC were camped at Batinuni Lake which is N.W. of Quesnel and S.W. of Prince George in the BC central interior. GPS WGS84 Map reading N. 53, 21.500 W. 123, 58.120

. Anna Arnette was camped with her family and two dogs at Batinuni Lake Her husband is a practical joker who likes to scare her or surprise her al lot.

She was sitting by the campfire enjoying the stars and her two dogs were with her. Her husband had taken the children into the motor home to put them to bed. He said that he would stay with them until they went to sleep then come out and join her. The children were very tired from the long busy day so they figured the children would go to sleep quite quickly.

After some time she could hear some sound along a short piece of lakeside road. They had walked the road before dark and noticed that the side close to the lake was lined with large rocks which were probably 100 to 150 pounds each.

She then heard “ker-sploosh” like a big rock was being thrown into the water. There was some other noises accompanying the occasional “ker-sploosh” sound. She listened and thought it was her husband teasing her. The dogs were very fearful which seemed a bit odd because they never get that way. The sounds and “ker-sploosh” noises were coming closer. She then realized that her husband had been with the children for quite a long time. Surely he must have gotten the children to sleep and snuck out of the motor home when she wasn’t looking, and now he was trying to scare her. She spoke out several times for him to quit fooling around but got no response.

She decided to go to the motor home and get a big flood light type flashlight that they had and she would shine it on him and catch him in the act. When she entered the motor home there was her husband on the bed with the children. The dogs came bolting into the motor home and absolutely refused to go back outside.

The next morning they went for a walk along the short stretch of road only to find that all of these huge rocks were gone ; picked up and thrown 30 or more feet away into the lake.

Anna went on to relay another incident that took place on a later camping trip in the same general area at Boat Lake when she was camped there with her family. They had a large tarp covering the back portion of the motor home so they could have a nice dry place when coming out of the motor home, if it rained.

It was dark and they were settling in for the night when they heard sounds outside. Then sounds along the motor home. All of a sudden the motor home started shaking and rocking hard enough to rattle everything inside. The motion was hard enough to break a strong tie rope that was attached to the motor home and the tarp and solidly anchored at the other end.

What ever shoot their motor home was exceptionally powerful. When they heard it leave the decided to wait until morning to investigate. She said that they are very well seasoned outdoors people who camp a lot and are very bush wise. She said that they are positive that this was not a Bear because a Bear would make a lot more noise while around. This was almost as if they were snuck up on then shook up before a hasty retreat.

2004 logger sees Sasquatch in the gravel pit on the Pelican Forest Rd where it turns off of the Blackwater Road.

A short time later a Log Truck Driver was driving slowly along the Pelican Forest Road when he radioed to his fellow truck drivers that he had a Sasquatch running along side his truck, claiming that he was telling the truth.

July, 2005

THIS STORY IS BELOW IN IT'S ENTIRETY;.

A couple visiting from the Prairies stopped in Prince George. They decided to go for a drive in the early evening and see what the highway going east had to offer for attractions. Not far east there is a ski hill. Just as they passed the driveway into the ski hill something caught their attention. A individual came up the bank on the north side of the highway, and walked onto the highway in front of their car. They were driving at highway speed so things happen quickly.  As they got close to the individual they realized that it was not a man. This was taller and covered with hair. The individual continued across the highway and over the bank on the south side, across the ditch, and into the brush.

They got a pretty good look at it and described it in relative detail. They both looked at each other and asked each other, "what was that"?

They contacted me and I went out to investigate the sight.  The evidence at the location was several footprints, obvious trails through the waist high and taller grass, and one tree break marker, and a spot that looked as if one could have stopped to sit for a moment.

There were large footprints that were most likely the one that the tourists had seen, and some slightly smaller footprints, and some little footpronts only about 7 inches long.  It appeared quite certain that there was a family unit present ; big dad, a mother and baby.

Later, I spoke with someone who lives not far from there, and they told me that these Sasquatches have been seen on their property on a few occasions over a few years. Other people in the relative area were not very open to discussing the subject. I spoke to a lady not far from there who was very uneasy and seemed quite bothered by the fact that I had come to her home asking if she had any information about the possibility of Sasquatch in the area. She seemed very anxious for me to leave. As I left her property I noticed a large "X" in the trees close to her lawn, and an arrow marker 8-10 feet up in the willow branches, off to the side.

There is a person who lives in the area, ( whom I will not say any more about because they want their identity concealed), who told me that the evening before the highway sighting, he had large animals that he did not see, making a huge amount of noise on his property not far from his house.  He has lived in the central interior all of his life and has never heard anything like that. He is very familiar with Coyotes, Wolves, Bears, Cougars and everything else that lives up here and makes noise. This was much louder and definately nothing that he could possibly relate it too.  He has since had definate Sasquatch showing up on his property.  During the summer of 2006 he had purchased numerous tennis balls for his dog to play with, and they just kept on disappearing. In late summer he went for a walk through the back of his property on a well used trail.  There they were, all the missing tennis balls lined up in a line alongside the trail.

August 2005

I received a report of a sighting from a couple that were driving out of the Finmore Road west of Prince George. As they came along the road two Sasquatch came walking out from the bushes on the left side of the road, looked at the vehicle approaching, then continued along their way. They were two large adults seven feet or taller, covered in dark hair and looked just like two people out for a stroll.  I investagated the sight and found some footprints, 15 to 18 inches long, and a few tree breaks.

Early Fall 2005

A gentleman whom I have known for a few years relayed a story to me. He has asked that his identification remain in confidence.

He was out hunting in an area thast I am familiar with. He told me that three years ago while in this area he thought he saw a Bear down in the tall grass and Rose-Hip bushes eating berries.  He was quite close to it. As he watched it, he figured that if he can get a good look at it, and if it is big enough to make a nice trophy, he would seriously consider taking it.

As he watched through his rifle scope the Bear stood up, and up and up. Holly smoke, he said, that thing stood over seven feet tall. It turned and looked at him, gave him a dirty look, as if to say, why don't you just buzz off, then walked away into the bush.

He told me that he was only 60 to 75 yards away and through his variable power scope, he could see it's eyes, mouth and teeth as it gave him a sneering grin, before walking away.  He said that he could have easily shot it right through the head at that range, he could have been a very famous man. I asked him why he didn't. He said, that thing looked just like a large man covered with dark hair. Those things are not animals, and I am not a murderer. I just couldn't do it, even if I wanted to.

Early Spring 2006

A gentleman came to see me. He lives only a 15 minute drive away from me, in a rural area where Moose, Deer, Bears and Coyotes passing through your back yard is not at all unusual.

There is a lake only a few kilometers from his home, and only a few minutes drive from where I live.  For several years he would go bow hunting behind this lake. There is a lot of private property back there and a very pleasant community living around the lake.

He had permission from some land owners to hunt on their property as long as it was only with a bow and arrow. Every time he would hunt there he would be seeing strange tree breaks and duck blind type nests, and strange structures made with sticks and small logs looking like primitive unfinished  frames for teepees and stuff.  Not always but most of the time he would feel like he was being watched. Sometimes he would feel like he was being followed.

He later found out from land owners that Sasquatch have been living in that area for very long time and have been seen by the residents over the years ...........  Leo Selzer ....

Aptil 10, 2006.

I heard a Sasquatch howling close to my home. I recorded the last of the Audio. Unfortunately I misses recording all of the incredible before what I did get. The story and Audio is on My Experiences page.

August 2006.

I was at Windy Point Lodge, which is a two hour drive north of Prince George. A lady who works in the Gas Station said that the people who live around there have had a lot of sightings, and still do. They don't tell anybody because they don't think it is very important. She told me that there is an old Native Indian trail that goes through the bush from McLoud Lake to War Falls and onward to what used to be the Parsnip River before the Hudson Hope Bennet Dam flooded the area. Sasquatch is supposed to frequent the trail. It is a long hard walk to go on the trail and most of it is now grown over.

August 2006.

I recieved a call from a young man who was fishing at a lake in the Bowron Clear cut. He was in his boat when he saw a Sasquatch, (a bear runnung on it's hind legs), on the hillside above the lake, watching him, then it broke cover and ran up the hillside and into the bush.

I went out there to investigate but I did not have a boat to take along and there is no trails over to where he saw the Sasquatch.

SOME UPDATE FOOD FOR THOUGHT

I have recently found that almost all of the fresh arrows and markers that I came accross last spring and summer have now been removed and the sticks used are not to be seen anywhere close by. The structures such as arches and other things seem just the same, but the arrow pointers and the like have gone. The small tree breaks that appear to be directional markers have been moved to point in different directions now. This brings about some very interesting questions.

a.. Did Sasquatch become bothered by the presence of people and remove and redirect his directional pointers to stop anyone from following them and henceforth, finding him ???

b.. Does Sasquatch remove these pointers and markers before leaving an area in order to avoid confusion when he returns later and makes new markers ???

Many more questions come up because of this discovery..

Prince George, BC.. A REPORT FROM SASKATCHEWAN VISITORS

Wednesday July 20, 2005 at 8:15 PM Highway 16 East , 20.45 kilometres East from Prince George, BC a Large Sasquatch crosses the highway in front of them. Signs of others found in the bush. Tracks of a large adult, smaller adult, and baby are found.

Hi Leo,

I would like to pass on my Sasquatch sighting to you. I was vacationing in B.C. last week with my wife. We stopped in Prince George at a motel. We arrived in Prince George early in the afternoon and therefore decided to take a wildlife sight-seeing tour in the evening. We drove east on highway 16 towards Jasper.

I have a GPS and enjoy playing with it, so I marked the east side of the Fraser River Bridge as our starting point. We spotted a cow moose 10 km east and then at 20.45 km east a pickup truck was coming the other way and just past it we saw a human (?) crossing the Hwy from north to south. As we got closer I could see that it was incredibly tall and the same color as the moose we had just seen (dark brown-almost black). It had no clothes that I could see. It looked like fur but I was just a bit too far away to be 100% sure of the fur. It had very long legs and arms and a very heavy thick chest. It was not carrying anything.

I could see its arms swinging gently as it walked. It had its head down and it seemed to be trudging along like it had a long way to go (strangely enough, I even sensed the body language). Despite that, it was taking incredibly long strides, and it crossed the Hwy very quickly and went down into the ditch and then into the forest without ever once looking in our direction. It had ceased to look like a human. It looked exactly like a Sasquatch that I had seen on the Outdoor Life Network a few years back except that they do not exist and therefore I could not bring myself to even think of the name.

A quick check in the mirror showed no cars coming so I stopped at the very spot that it entered the trees. There was no road or trail, not even a deer trail. It had simply vanished into very heavy forest ( I don’t think I need to tell you how thick the forest can be in B.C.). I looked to the other side of the road and saw that there were no trails there either. That’s when the Sasquatch word popped into my head. Why would a human walk into dense forest when they could walk down the Hwy. I looked at my wife and said “what the hell was that?”. She said “you had better not tell anyone or they will think we are nuts”, which of course is true but I can’t stop thinking about it and don’t really care if people think I’m crazy. We were driving east in the evening with the sun behind us lighting up the scenery as good as you could ever hope for. Therefore we had no problem seeing it. We were fairly close, about 250 meters on the road, 150 in the ditch and 100 meters as it disappeared into the forest. I would have liked to be a little closer. Yes we had a camera, but it’s a new digital and my wife is not very familiar with it, and it all happened too fast. I am quicker with the camera but I was driving, and I don’t think I would have gotten a picture anyway.

I have been a very serious hunter for 40 years and therefore can easily recognize any wildlife that I see. There is not one chance in a billion that it was any known animal on the planet. I am certain of that. I wish that I hadn’t seen it, because I was so comfortable not believing. Now I don’t know what to think. I would like to believe that it was just your local Prince George folks trying to freak out the tourists. If it was a hoax, it was a masterpiece. I tried to picture myself pulling off a hoax like that. It would take a giant human and a very good costume or a smaller person on stilts and an even better costume, but how could someone walk on stilts so easily through the small but thick brush in the ditch. Also if I was manufacturing a sighting I would definitely pause a few seconds and look at the car bearing down on me for better “dramatic” effect. It didn’t do that. I tried to put it out of my head and we continued on our tour until we were 100 km from Prince George and then turned around. On the way back we saw a large black bear in the ditch just 300 meters east of Sugarbowl Creek. Then we saw a Lynx crouched on the shoulder of the Hwy eyeing a Mule deer buck that was feeding in the ditch (seemed strange because the buck was way too big for the Lynx). As we passed the spot that we had seen the “Myth” I slowed down and looked again.

It was very heavy timber but about 400 meters to the west there were some buildings and vehicles on the south side of the Hwy, set back in the trees. I could not tell whether they were occupied or abandoned. It seemed plausible that it was headed that way but it would have to turn east and walk through thick forest to get there.

We got back to the motel and I was trying hard to stop thinking about it. I went to the lobby to get some ice cubes for a drink. I asked the hotel clerk if she had any tourist brochures and she pointed to the rack behind me. I turned around and stared straight at the Sasquatch picture on your printout. That is why I am sending you this info. If I had not seen your printout, I think I would have just not told this story to anyone. I thought of phoning you then, but it was late at night by that time. The sighting was last week, Wednesday July 20, 2005 at 8:15 PM in perfect lighting conditions. The next morning we drove back to the spot to check for tracks but the ditch was covered in thick grass and short shrubs. I “kicked” myself for not taking a GPS fix the night before. I did take a GPS fix in the morning but it could be out by 100 meters or so. The coordinates are latitude N 53*56.545’ and longitude W 122*26.473. The driver of the pickup truck coming the other way might have seen “it” in the ditch or in his rearview mirror crossing behind him. You might get a second opinion.

I missed a few details. “It” was easily over 7 feet tall, probably 7 ½ feet, and I believe it was a male based not just on height, but more on the shape of the chest, thick at the top and tapering narrower at the waist, which I could see pretty clearly from my side view. Also my wife says that she is pretty sure it was at least 7 feet tall.

Yes you can publish my story but please leave my name out for now. Maybe later, but I’m not quite ready for that at the moment.

Best regards and good luck with your efforts, Happy hunting, Saskatoon Visitor

This is the results of my investigation;

Hello Saskatoon Visitor

I went back out to the SASKY spot early this afternoon. My friend who helps me was not able to come so my wife came along instead. She is also a very well seasoned hunter with good eyes and good ears.. My Friend and I did a reasonable job of first over search 100 plus metres west of point Sasky last night.

Today I started from the GPS Sasky point and went about 150 metres east. I went into the ditch on the South side of the Highway and did a ground search in the ditch all the way to 100(+) metres west of point Sasky.. At about 60 metres East of point Sasky I noticed pressed down grasses and what appeared to be possible impressions going into the brush.. I tried to follow but the slope was too steep and everything was a bit wet.... I thought if I do manage to make it up there, I have no idea how I will get down. It appeared as if the slope progressed higher than the Highway but how much more is hard to tell. I went up the slope into the brush far enough that I almost lost sight of the highway and I was only about the same level as the highway .. The only reason I got this far was because I was on all fours pulling myself with my hands. The slope continued upwards and the brush was probably 4 to 5 metres tall.. I decided that this approach would be a last resort...

I then went to the North side of the highway and quickly noticed two track-ways through the high grass corresponding to the evidence across the highway... The two track-ways are about 20 metres apart and they weren't very wide and each appeared to be a single animal passing. The North side of the Highway is about two metres below highway level.. I found it steep going down and up but not that bad.. Upon examining both track-ways and looking at the bent grass, it was evident that they both came out of the bush and went South to cross the highway .. I then back tracked the one track-way into the bush and about 3 steps into the bush I found the first track.. It was not very clear and was mostly of the ball of the foot with some arch and heal outline and some toe outline. I would estimate that if it were clear it would be about 16 plus inches long and 6 - 7 inches wide at the ball of the foot.. The toes were not clear enough to estimate.. We walked throughout the area from where we were which is about, 50 or 60 metres east of GPS point Sasky to about an additional 50 metres further east, on to about 30 to 50 metres west of GPS point Sasky covering the bush all the way from the highway through to the small road behind..

There were numerous tracks and imprints throughout the area, but nothing clear enough to Plaster Cast.. The track is about "5" inches long which clearly indicates a youth or baby. If compared to a human baby, it would likely be about two to three years old.. Other "partial" tracks that we had noticed in the bush and on the road indicated an individual smaller than the large tracks found... All things compiled within this investigation , tell me that there was a family unit present... Likely it was the large male that crossed the road first, then when there was no traffic and all things were quiet and safe, the mother and baby followed...

I really hoped to find at least one track that was plaster cast capable ; but it just didn't happen..

Without any doubt in my mind I can say that I thoroughly investigated the location of your sighting encounter as you had described it to me ; and evidence present indicates that there was probably three Sasquatchs ( large adult , smaller adult, and baby ) on the north side of the highway and at least one appears to have crossed the highway exactly where you said that you saw one..

My report is concluded on July 29, 2005.....

On my way back to town I stopped at a few residences along the way to introduce myself and leave a business card. I talked to a lady and her family who are the closest residence to your sighting location.. They told me that the one daughter had seen a large Sasquatch at the back of their property two years ago. She said that other residents in that general area had also indicated through the general lines of neighborly conversation that there has been several sightings around there over the last few years... Also in that area, there is the Giscome Road and the Shelly Road which both go eastward... A cross road a couple kilometers in joins the two. There is one road within that sector which crosses the Giscome Road.... Within this large sector the lady said that there is consistent sightings by the local people.. All the children in that area travel the same school bus so nothing is kept secret for long around there....

Thank you again for your report and your detailed information... If you are ever in Prince George again , Please be sure to call me.. I would like to buy you a Tim Horton's coffee and have a visit.................. Thank you again...... Leo

Mr. Selzer, Thank you for writing your article.

I have been haunted for 5 years now after seeing one of these creatures. I was so absorbed by it I wrote an account of my sighting about a year after the sighting. Also, I was responding to another article in the PG Citizen dated June 21/01.

This is my account.
My family was traveling back from Calgary in May/00. I believe it was between Jasper and McBride on Hwy. #16, when we were just rounding a bend in the road when I saw at a distance a black creature. At first I thought it was a bear crossing the road. As we got closer my mind was going crazy trying to figure out what it was. "Is this bear walking upright? Is it a

guerilla? The head was fairly large but not as large as a bear or guerilla (from the distance we were anyway) It might be 6 to 7 feet tall. Large feet and covered in black hair. Long swinging arms, I did not see its face, only a side profile at a comfortable distance, than you very much." It did not look at us....it just kept walking.

Now this is the strange part. As I am sizing this creature up I look over to my husband whom is also looking at it, in fact he has not taken his eyes off it. I glance at my husband and back at the creature. I now watch it dissappear from the north side of the highway to the south or from the right of the highway to the left as we are travelling north - west on Hwy 16. But as I watch it go into the woods I take another glance at my husband who says absolutely nothing to me and I know he saw it.

Now I sit dumbfounded not knowing what to think. Oh, yes as we passed the spot where I would have expected the creature to have entered the forest from the highway I strained to see where it went into the bush to see if it was still there. I looked at my husband and he seem to not even be interested in the sighting he didn't look with me into this spot as we passed. In fact he never mentioned it. I had a strange feeling that I should not mention it either and for months I worried about it. I thought if I told someone I might have some terrible accident and die or something.

About 5 months later I decided to mention the incident to my husband during a walk on a trail. I told him what I saw, I told him everything and he said he didn't see anything and basically made me feel foolish. I was so upset with him I told him I would never bring the subject up again.

This bigfoot mystery has been around for as long as I can remember. There is a mystery about these creatures and maybe they like it that way. All I can tell you is that I saw one and I don't care if anyone believes me or not.

Calgary Lady.

               < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < - > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

Dear Calgary Lady

Thank you for coming forward with this experience..
Unfortunately ; far too often people see Sasquatches and refuse to admit even to themselves what they have seen. There is the fear of redicule from other people and the fear that no one will believe you. I truely understand , because I was there myself for a lengthy period of time in my life when and I felt the same way. Society in general is sceptical about way too many things and this creates real problems for those who experience encounters.

You will always find the critics who are more than willing to express their belief that such things do not and could not exist and yet they are the ones who are the most uneducated on the subject. We cannot deny our experiences and need to face up to them even if it makes us uncomfortable. If you tell other people about a Sasquatch encounter it is very important not to downplay the event but to stand firm on your sincerety over what you saw and experienced. People will take notice of sincerety but they will tend to laugh off a story told in a oh-well type of attitude. People listen to me and take me seriously because I stand firm and let it be known that I couldn't care less if you believe me or not. This is what happened and I can't change that. So, if you find it hard to believe me then perhaps you should do some research on the possibility of ther existance of Sasquatch before prejudging me and my story..

Again thank you for your story.. There is a number of sightings that have taken place in that very area within the last few years. I would really like to know how may more happen in that area each year that are not told to anyone. It wouldn't surprise if there could be as many as 20 sightings each year along that stretch of Highway, of course that is just a wild guess on my part. But then how many people in BC each year have sightings and encounters and how many of them ever get reported, considering that people do have uncomfortable fears about telling anyone............. Best Wishes, LEO
