SPRING ; APRIL & MAY 2006.
I live in a pleasant subdivision of 62 homes out in the country, 8 miles (12 km), west from Prince George BC, Canada . There is acreage and farms all around our subdivision. Across the highway and about 800 yards west is a large farm ; with other fields adjoining to total about 100 acres. Behind the farm is some smaller acreages. A large, wide, powerline right of way cuts right through the area. Behind all of this is miles upon miles of bush.
On April 10, 2006, I was standing on my front porch at 3:00 in the AM while my dog did his thing.
While I was on the porch waiting for my dog I heard a very loud long mournful howl type sound coming from the back of that farm. Then I heard it a second and third time. When I heard it the third time all the dogs in that back area went wild barking. Then I heard what sounded like the dogs had something cornered. Then the dogs started barking furiously and their voices took on a higher pitch as if they were frightened to death of something. What the dogs were after was yelling at the dogs in a screaming yelling type voice.
I had heard that type of sound before but it took a bit of time to remember ; it was on the internet. That was when I realized that I was hearing a Sasquatch. By the time I went in the house and got my video camera and parabolic microphone things had gotten quiet, except for the odd dog bark.
I left the sound equipment running and stayed out there waiting. At 9 minutes and 42 seconds I heard a long mournful wailing sound off in the distance. Then about 15 -20 seconds later I heard it again but very faint.
If you want to hear other recordings that are incredibly close to what I heard you can check these out. First I heard almost exactly like the 1994 Moaning Howl from Columbian County, Ohio. This can be heard at http://www.bfro.net/AVEVID/MJM/ohrec.asp
Then when the dogs seemed to have the (Sasquatch?) cornered the sound I heard was very much like the; 1978 Whoop-Howl from Snohomish County, Wash. which can be heard at http://www.bfro.net/AVEVID/MJM/ss-snobf.wav
I went to my computer and downloaded the sounds from my camcorder into a file on my computer. Then I brought up Sasquatch sounds that I had downloaded from the internet. ( described above ) Bingo, I had a match. Now I knew that Sasquatch had visited my neighborhood.
Come morning. April 11, 2006, I went over to that area and found fresh Sasquatch type breaks on the willow trees. Upon examination the sap on the break fragments was still wet and tasted sweet-bitter. Some imprints were visibly on the ground, but could not be clearly seen as the ground was still frozen. I now knew that this was where the Sasquatch had been a few hours earlier.
The next morning, April 12, 2006 I got an e-mail from a fellow who lives just on the other side of the powerline right of way, not more than 500 yards from the tree breaks. He had been standing at his bedroom window at 2:00 AM , just a few hours earlier , when he heard strange vocalizations coming from that same patch of woods. He said it sounded like people mumbling to each other, but did not quite sound like people. He couldn't make out anything they were saying.
So, I stayed up that night and waited until 1:00 AM ; April 13, 2006 ; and went back to the location where Sasquatch had been, with my sound recording equipment. I was positioned between two large fields so that I could pick up sounds from all directions at long distances. At 3:30 AM I decided to move position to where the road ran through with bush on both sides, close to where I had found the evidence the day before. It is a narrow road that runs very close to the bush on the North side, and on the South side of the road is some houses that are spaced about 200-400 meters/yards apart and are all set far back off the road. The specific bush where I found the evidence is on the north side and covers about 30 acres. This is a country seting with acreages and farming.
It was a very dark night, and ground fog was incredibly thick around and in back of the fields, where I was. Most of the time visibility was less than 100 feet and at times only 30 or so feet.
I felt somewhat secluded sitting there on the road beside the bush. I soon realized that none of the area dogs were making any noise. I quickly put on the headphones and turned on my parabolic microphone receiver. I heard slow, soft footsteps just across the fence in the bush walking in the dry grass and twigs and pine needles that covered the ground. I had to turn the parabolic microphone receiver volume down because the sound coming through the headphones was so loud it hurt my ears. When I made movement to remove the headphones the noise stopped. I stood still for a moment and the footsteps began. If I made any movement the footsteps stopped. If I stood still for a short time the footsteps started again. Very slow and very gentle, methodically placed footsteps..
Judging by the sound they were most certainly being made by a heavy animal. The more I listened the more I realized that these steps were not a 4 legged animal, but were most definitely being made by a bi-pedal. I calculated the footsteps to be just across the fence, in the bush, not more than 50 feet from me. Regrettably, I had not had time to hook up my recording equipment to capture the sounds of the footsteps. The recorder was in the back seat of my vehicle. I would have had to make a lot of movement to get it out.
Here I am standing there in the dark, all by myself at 3:40 AM ; visibility was only about 30 feet, very short, due to no moon and thick ground fog. I was being watched and being approached by heavy bi-pedal footsteps. I did not actually feel afraid, but I did feel very uncomfortable, with an overpowering sense of stupidity. The footsteps stopped. All was quiet for two to three minutes. I had a powerful feeling that my presence was not wanted there.
If I had felt fear I would not be ashamed to say so, but that was not the feeling that I had. This was a lot different. I did not feel afraid or threatened, just stupid and not wanted.
It was a spur of the moment decision for me to go out there. My wife was at work and my son was in bed sleeping. Nobody knew that I was there, and I had not even left a note before leaving home. That is why I felt so stupid. One never knows for sure if something might happen if you're out alone. If I would have just left a note I would have felt OK about being there.
I decided to move my position and moved back to between the large fields. Other than the sounds of some coyotes, geese, and dogs I didn’t record anything that I could identify. That was all that happened that night.

On April 22, 2006 my wife and I went for a drive back in the woods, into an area where we had found a lot of Sasquatch evidence last spring and summer. We found some fresh evidence in several places along with some fresh but poor quality foot prints. One juvenile foot print was in the soft mud beside a puddle with melting snow. I tried to cast it but the mud was too soft and the track dissipated quite badly ; leaving a casting that could not be identified.
Mike and I went back into that area ; April 24, 2006 ; and spent the entire day out and about that area. We found more fresh evidence and followed some fresh tree break markers. There was some vague foot prints in the grass but not good enough the make out the direction of travel. We examined the way the markers were bent. We picked up a line of several markers and followed them about three hundred yards up a high ridge. When we got to one marker we could see the next one. We finally had to turn back. When we got back to the road we noticed that there were markers along the side of the road that could only be seen when driving in one direction and not from the other direction. On closer examination we picked up on faint trails that went in the brush at these locations and went to the next marker. Now it was starting to make sense.
At about 6:30 PM after a half hour of checking out a clearing at the end of the road I thought I would try a call. We had done some tree banging that didn't get any response so why not try a call. I imitated the long mournful call that I had heard from my porch. I made this long and mournful call through my birch bark megaphone that I use when hunting moose. Immediately I got a vocal response followed be two tree bangs. I tried several more times but no more response. We thought we heard voices about 20 minutes later but were not sure. I plan on going back out there again as soon as I can.
On May 10, 2006 I went back out into this same general area. Again, I found some fresh evidence that was not there on my previous trip. As I slowly drove down the road I stopped to photograph a large arrow marker close to the road. I was sure that I had photographed it last spring but I thought I would do so again just in case I hadn’t. As I put my truck in gear and started to move I noticed a footprint in the sandy gravel at the edge of the road. I got out for a better look and noticed the impression of five toes as part of the footprint. It was clear enough to photograph, which I did, but was not quality enough to cast. The footprint was ; Length 16.5 inches (41 cm.) and Wide 9.5 inches (22 cm.). Looking up and down the road there was several visibly smooth spots in the shape of footprints but none were clearly identifiable. The pattern indicated a possible bi-pedal stride of about four feet between pressure spots.
After taking photographs I drove about one kilometer (half mile) off a side road leading to the back end of a freshly logged clearing which adjoined an old second growth clearing. The main road wound around this old clearing and into an newer clearing behind the old second growth clearing. It started to rain very large rain drops so I had to leave my sound equipment in my truck. I stood just a few steps from the bush line overlooking the area. I decided to do a long drawn out mournful vocalization. Nothing responded. I waited a 20 or 30 seconds then did another. Again waited about 30 seconds then did another call. Immediately I heard a voice yell back to me , "WHAAAAAAAT" ? It sounded like the voice of a young man. It was possibly about 400 yards away in the direction of the back clearing. Shortly after that, I heard what sounded like two male voices talking. These were coming from close to that same spot.
I thought that I had just disturbed some spring bear hunters. I decided to drive around to find them and apologize. There wasn’t anyone to be seen anywhere when I got to the back clearing. The only way out would take them past me so I would have surely seen them. The only way in that area was by the road and that was too far to walk in. Upon closer examination of the road surface I found that I was making the only fresh vehicle track on that road.
I could not get any further response to anything I tried so I left there and went into another road not far away. There I saw some reasonably fresh tree breaks as well as a large star on the side of the road. This star was made from 3 long willow trees broken off and each one close to the same length, 7-8 feet or so. They were placed across the center point of each to form the star.
Leaving there I drove into a road leading to some old forest at the edge of some new logging. This place was a real hot bed of both old and fresh evidence in May and June of last year, 2005. Last year we had found some fresh footprints in here and had on one evening gotten two separate vocal responses to my calling and tree banging followed later by voices in the trees behind us; on a second occasion we had again heard voices in the trees behind us.
When I got back there, I turned my vehicle around and poured myself a coffee, giving time for my noises to settle down. Then I made several mournful vocalizations and tree bangs with no response. All of a sudden some 700 or so yards across the clearing, coyotes started to howl. They did so for a couple of minutes then went quiet. Just before they went quiet I thought I heard voice mixed in with their howls. A few minutes later I heard the Coyotes again but this time they were quite a long way off. I thought I heard voice sounds again coming from that direction but was not sure.
I waited a few minutes then made another mournful call. This was responded to by what sounded like an owl. This owl sound seemed to come from the very same spot where I had first heard the coyotes. Then another owl started up , then another. It now sounded like there was three owls trying to out hoot each other. Then all went silent. I waited for several minutes then again made a long mournful sound. Just a split second before I made the call, as I was taking a deep breath, there was a gravely voice that vocalized from that same place. I made my call and listened. It wasn’t long before the owl sounds started up again. One, two then a third owl. Then I picked up on the sound of a voice mixed in with the owl sounds. Then the owl sounds started to sound not so much like owls. All of a sudden all went quite. After some ten minutes I decided to leave and head home as it was now starting to get quite dark.
In closing I would like to say that I am sure that a lot of people have heard a lot of Sasquatch related sounds out in the bush and didn’t even know that they were experiencing something very special. The mimickers are good at what they do. Good enough to fool most of us, and even the most experienced woodsman a lot of the time.
I hope that you enjoy your next trip into the woods. Watch, pay attention and listen. You might be surprised or even confused over what you see, feel or hear.......... .

These footprints were found in late June 2006. There was other footprints present, but, these were the only ones that would photograph. Lighting is a problem ib the forest when trying to photograph imprints in the grass.

This is one of the most incredible pieces of Sasquatch workmanship that I have ever seen. The X stands alone as would a signboard in a field. The two logs that form the X have been pushed into the ground and lean over to make the X. The log in the front is hoocked onto a small branch stub that sticks out from the log behind. The debris around the bottom has been maticulously placed to secure the X in an upright position.
This is up an embankment and is about 5 feet (1.5 meters) above the level of the road. The road is just wide enough for one vehicle. This is in a remote spot that would only see traffic during the hunting season and then very little. Grass grown over the tire tracks on the road so it is evident that few people go back here.
As we rounded a bend in the road, heading further into the woods, this is the first thing that is seen, right there in full view. Coming from the other direction it is hard to see. It is angeled in such a way so it is almost facing who ever comes down the road. This was in February of 2006. This was not here in September of 2005. Notice that both logs used are butt end up.
I have noticed that when something is found to be a Sasquatch creation using sticks or logs, some or most of the materials used will be placed butt end up. This might be one way that they use to tell eachother that this was made by a Sasquatch and is not a natural happening.

This footprint was at the very edge of the road, just below a ridge. This area is constantly producing fresh evidence from first in the spring until mid August, for the past three years that I have been monitoring movement in the area. During this time I have found fresh footprints from large adult to small juvenile. June 2006, I found this footprint, photographed it and measured it then drove less than one-kilometer up the road and stopped at the back of a fresh clearing only two years old. I did a few Loon type calls and got a response from the thick brush in a marshy hollow that extends out from the timber.

.This is a conglomerate of a total of four different sizes of Footprints.
The largest measures about 15 -16 inches long (35-40 cm), and the smallest, measures about 5 inches (12-14cm) long.
Most likely these are the footprints of a large adult, an older juvenile, a younger juvenile or youth, and a mother with a small baby..
.The
ground was soft under the grass, and the grass was damp from a recent rain.
These circumstances made it possible to see all these footprints on top of eachother.
Truely a once in a lifetime set of circumstances that I was extreemely fortunate
to have come across.
.It took me a couple of hours to sort out this pile of footprints. This was at the location of one very large tree break, 2 1/2 inch diameter Aspen , and over 6-feet up. Also present was a small tree break of a spindly Aspen only about 3 feet up.
It appears that the Sasquatch had mulled about this spot for a while. It appears that there are FOUR different size feet involved.
The large White footprint appears to be first. Then the Yellow footprints next. Then the Red footprints on top.
The last to be made are the litle blue ones.
Other that that I could not sort out the sequences very well.
Other footprints were noticed in the vacinity, but were mostly hard to see and even harder to photograph.

.This footprint looks as if the maker had shuffled or slightly turned it's foot. This would account for the distorted toe pattern.

This tree was broken off and hit the ground. Then it looks as if someone picked it up and stuffed it into the branches of the tree and into the tops of the Aspen on the right.
A close examination of this indicates that when the tree broke off it did not, and was unlikely to have ended up this way. Photographs really don't show things very clear.
.We could not see what might have caused the tree to break originally ; quite likely a rotten spot in the wood, then wind might have brought it down.

Originally this appeared to be a natural occurance. Then it was noticed that there were peoces of this that were carefull placed and some were interwoven. Also, some of the stuff like the peice going diagonal, left up, right down, was placed Butt end up.
Notice the one long spindly peice that is arched like a Bow, holding everything together like a big spring.

This Pinwheel was right on the side of the road. This area had been logged off about 30 years ago and was growing up with Pine, Balsam, Aspen and Willow. There was other Sasquatch evidence in this place.

This Mushroom was fresh when found. It was a warm day, and when found the tiny roots were still damp from the moss it had grown in. The mushroom was completely unblemished. No beek marks from a large bird. No teeth marks or anything anywhere on the mushroom.
A squirrel could not have put it there ; the mushroom is way too large for a
Squirrel to get it up there, and besides he would have left teeth marks.
Close examination of this mushroom indicated that it had to have been a soft
instrument used to placed it there ; a hand or fingers.
There was some indentations in the grass that could have been large footprints.
Less than a kilometer further along this exteremely narrow and somewhat overgrown road, we came to a washout. It had some short logs and debris sticking out of the hardened banks that had to be removed. The mud at the bottom was covered with water but seemed to be passable in four wheel drive. I have a Jeep Wrangler with a winch, so I knew I could get through even if I had to use the winch.
I had to use my powersaw to cut logs out of the washout to clean it up in order to make it passably. I worked at the site for at least 20 minutes and made quite a lot of noise. I then drove through. As I came out the other side my wife, who was standing beside the road watching me, yelled out that something very large just took off through the bush just 70-80 feet from my Jeep. I investigated but the bush was too dense to see anything.
.
.
.
As we drove down a narrow little road that leads into a clearing that was logged probably four or five years ago, we came to two large trees across the road. Instead of just turning around, I decided to stop and have a look around the area.
I got out of my vehicle, walked around the front of it, and almost stepped on this foot print.
In the frames below I have darkened down the picture and laid my eye-glasses beside the footprint for a size estimation. I had forgotten to bring my measure tape.
.Can you see the other footprint that is present ?
It is to the right and goes in the opposite direction. It is likely a day or two older.
